ACCESSING JAPAN

Accessing Japan

English Teaching Pathway

EPIC Hope provides coaching for placing bivocational Christian missionaries in English teaching opportunities at privately run conversation schools. To qualify, applicants must be able to obtain a letter of reference from an LCMC pastor or church. We cannot vet people in the US from Japan, and rely on our associated mission groups and churches within the LCMC to assist with the vetting process.

Japanese Language Student Pathway

EPIC Hope can help in getting placed as a Japanese language student. A Japanese language student visa is a two-year pre-college visa. To qualify, you must be a high school graduate, be over 18 years old, and show access to the necessary funds. It is possible to work on this visa after obtaining permission from your school. You should try to avoid part-time English teaching work, as it will slow down your Japanese language acquisition; food service is a better option. Your mission field will be the other international students in your Japanese language school environment. Again, we rely on vetting from LCMC pastors and church leaders in the US as a first step.
